healthy. We're dedicated 24-7 to providing you, the avid PD

Huge Arsenal
Update - January 6 - Hitman Better late that
never. Well in this case, it might seem too late already. You may
have noticed that our arsenal page has
had incorrect info for quite some time. In fact, that page hadn't
been updated forsince March 2000, which is was 10 months ago! That
the info that you've been seeing was what was available two months
prior to the Perfect Dark release, so a lot of it was guess work as
you might imagine. Well now, the arsenal page has been totally
revamped after extreme procrastination. Check it out and
you'll find all new in-depth descriptions of every single weapon,
every single function, and their strategic uses. In addition, we've
got loads of weapon pictures to display. In fact, we have 81 weapon
screenshots taken exclusively for updating this weapons page, so
there are loads of images to set your eyes on. Right now, this weapon section is
one of the most comprehensive that you'll find
anywhere.
Aside for that, we've also got more exceptional
reader-submitted mission
walkthroughs to present you. Here is our fourth guide for War in
perfect agent, and Tony Giordano willfully wrote us a gigantic
and extremely detailed walkthrough for Carrington
Defense in perfect agent. Thanks to yuri for writing us this
massive walkthrough for the all guns cheat,
and also to Alexander Golubow for writing us a comprehensive psychosis gun
guide. This is some top quality work, so put it to good
use.
Affiliate News Our beloved affiliate
PDark.com has written a feature that is worthy of your attention: Perfect Disappointment. After nine months of pbeing
released, the flaws are really starting to surface. Sure, Perfect
Dark is one of the best games of all time, but there still are some
points that could be improvement, and features that didn't meet your
expectations. PDark lays it all out, take a look.
SSB Fantasy World's
new layout - January 5 - Rabbit
Meat A quick update to let you know that our hosted
site, Super Smash
Bros. Fantasy World, has a fantastic new layout. It's been
months in the making and finally has been launched in the new year.
Webmaster Gideon has made some great flash components and the whole
site looks very professional. I've been giving him hints for a while
on the layout before he launched it and made the background for him
(god, I'm such an egomaniac to mention that :) so you can be sure
that this layout is very eye pleasing. Enough of my mindless
ramblings, just go and check it out for yourself.
Player's Choice /
Million Seller - December 25 - Hitman The Nintendo
Player's Choice are rewarded to only the mos prestigious and best of
games. And is Perfect Dark going to be counted as one? You bet.
Perfect Dark has sold over a milestone 1 million copies, and has
been given the honorary title. Starting tomorrow, Perfect Dark will
be officially crowned its title, and will start selling for a low
$39.95. The chances that any single game is chosen to get the title
is unlikely, but we all expected it sooner or later for PD, and it
came, just like as with Goldeneye. Perfect Dark was one of the five
biggest titles of 1999-2000 to get this Official Player's Choice
Award. For mor einfo on other games that received this title, go to Nintendo. All in all, we can see that Perfect
Dark will live long as a classic game for the N64.
Ah yes,
and how can I forget. On behalf of myself and everyone who has
contributed to this site... Merry Christmas! Best wishes to all.
Perfect Dark World
Championship - December 2 - Hitman Lo and behold,
there finally will be the presence of a widely publicized Perfect
Dark competition. Twin Galaxies, "The Official Electronic Games

finishers will receive a grand prize of $400. It's coming soon.
So... you claim you really are the best PD players around? Well I
suggest you enter this tournament and see how you fair out and show
off your skill, you might be surprised.
Nintensity.com grand
opening - November 26 - Hitman Straight from the
makers of this very website, we present to you the new project that
we are about to embark on - Nintensity.com, which is dedicated to all that is the
Nintendo Gamecube. Perfect Dark news has really slowed to a stop,
while information circling around the Nintendo Gamecube is really a
growing strength. Daily updates is what we are aiming for over
there, and the same style of high quality content will be present.
This site comes up after a full month of hard work, and from what
you can see, it is really kicking ass. From the makers of PD64.com,
check out Nintensity.com for some top notch coverage of
Nintendo's next-gen console, the Gamecube.
Fantasy World's new

seeing that they are a huge site they decided to get their own forums. So click here, go and sign up and have a great

new layout for the site which will be launched very soon. I'll be
sure to let you know when he gets the new layout up and running.
PD64.com's one year
anniversary!! - November 19 - Hitman This is a word
from the webmaster and original founder of PD64. Wow, this day is a
true milestone in the life of this site. Exactly one year ago today,
on November 19 1999, I made this site's very first update. And boy,
since then its been one hell of a wild ride. I'm getting teary
eyed... actually no I'm not, but I'm feeling dman proud that I
managed to build a small website out of the foundations of nothing
at all into one of the largest and most visited Perfect Dark
websites on the internet, that has survived a full
year.
Here's short and sweet overview of everything that this
site has been through in a year. In November of 1999, I just thought
it'd be cool to get going on a website about something that realy
did capture my interest, it would be by second site at the time, it
it was just a hobby anyways. Build under the original name "Perfect
Dark X", I can honestly say that it was utter crap. It got close to
no hits, but over time, visitor numbers gradually increased and I
got around to making almost-daily updates on it. In January, while
the site was running about 100 hits a day, I purchased this
excellent domain name "PD64.com", and this is when everything
skyrocketed - our hit numbers, our quality of content, and our
industry reputation/recognition. As the months passed, and the
Perfect Dark release day drew closer and closer, the excitement of
it all was really blew up, no longer a hobby, but more of an
obligation to run everything. Some highlight moments were when I did
receive contact from from a few Rareware staff members who were on
the Perfect Dark team, namely Martin Hollis (Perfect Dark Lead
designer) and Leigh Loveday (Rareware PR), trust me it was quite an
honor. And through this pre-release time, our update frequency went
crazy, check out our news archives and
you'll notice that 76 updates were made for the month of May alone.
It was during this time when PD64 was receiving upwards of 4000-5000
unique visitors a day. Post-release, we remained just as strong as a
new staff was hired to additionally help out, and out third ever
layout (the one you see now) was build from the ground up. By now,
our reputation from gamers around was one of shear perfection in a
website. We are proud to have the most complete mission and cheat
guides of any PD website, over 150 walkthroughs in total. So, times
went on has this site continued to be a major success. Through
October, we hit two major breakthroughs. We got an honorary mention
in EGM Magazine (Electronic Gaming Monthly, the most circulated
gaming magazine in the US) and we reached out 1,000,000th visitor
mark, which was a huge milestone that few gaming sites out there
have attained. Even today, this site is still scoring nicely with
well over a thousand visitors a day, our forums have hit the 25,000
post point, and our reputation has yet to die
down.
Originally a mere hobby, it is amazing to see the
pathway that this site has gone, to becomeing one of the largest,
most visited, and most reputable Perfect Dark sites on the web.
Though Perfect Dark might seem outdated at this point, there is no
reason that this site should not continue. And here we are, one year
after our original founding, still updating.
Perfect Head
Uncovered - November 19 - Hitman If you didn't
know already, Perfect Dark was originally intended to have a face
mapping feature where you could use the Game Boy Camera to take a
picture of yourself, and then transfer it to you game cart so that
you could use your own face on your own multiplayer character. Cool
huh? this was one of the most anticipated features that PD had to
offer. Then in February, it was announced that the feature would be
cancelled do to its certain risk for negative media response which
would hurt game sales (you'd be shooting and killing images of yout
friends and family, damn Columbine). Generally speaking, when a
feature in a game is cancelled, it is not totally deleted, but is
merely disabled to minimize the amount of bugs that occur otherwise.
"Perfect Head" was the original name of the face mapping menu, and a
Gameshark hacker at our affiliate dataDyneHQ has hacked into the game and has oncovered
it! You can't use it, but they've taken a good load of images of
what 10 Perfect Head menues look like looks like. This is definitely
a very cool discovery. See it for yourself.
RareNet - Alive!
- November 18 - Gump Yes, RareNet has returned and is fully
operational with a brand new twist and look! Just as things were
looking "dark" (no pun intended), the site returned out of the blue!
Dan explains on the site that their webhosting company went out of
business, and a foreign company bought RareNet.com. So to get it
back, Dan paid them a nice amount of frogskins to get it back. Now,
do Dan a favor and visit this marvelous site that we have all
learned to love - RareNet!
Clues on the next
Perfect Dark - November 17 - Hitman News at last! And
no, I am not dead, and neither is this site, though much (well...
all) of my online time is now focused on building up to the grand
opening of Nintensity.com. Anyways, on to the news...
Although there has been no confirmation of anything from
Rare, I think we can be pretty much sure that Rare is hard at work
on an Nintendo Gamecube sequel. Known already is that Rare have
received their Dolphin development kits, they displayed an
impressive 3D movie of Joanna Dark at SpaceWorld (hint hint), and on
their official site they are they are recruiting programmers/game
designers/graphic artists for a "Perfect Dark Counter Response
Unit", I think we can contrue of of all this what Rare is busy on a
new PD project. Previously there have been speculations that the PD
sequel would be called "Velvet Dark" or "After Dark" because Rare
has registered those domain names (velvetdark.com, afterdark.com).
Now, IGN has discovered that Rare has also trademarked additional
names, namely "Perfect Dark Evolution" and "Shot in the Dark". No
doubt that one of these has the potential to be the final name of
the game, though I really doubt it, the names sound a bit cheesy in
my opinion, but anything is possible. As far as things are
concerned, it seems as Rare is taking precautions to occupy any
ideas that they com up with just in case they might have to use them
later on. Well, the name is an uncertainty, but we can be reasonably
sure about that secret project being developed behind the closed
doors of Rare HQ, and thats something to be looking forward to.
RareNet - Dead?!
- November 10 - Gump I think I have
found out the answer to our RareNet problem. Go to
register.com, type in rarenet.com. Read the legal owners of the
site: "Andrew Werbicki of Lappeenranta, Finland"?? If I'm not
mistaken, a month ago that said Dan O. in Cali. I'm guessing that
right as RareNet's two year domain registration expired, some
Finland moron registered RareNet.com before Dan could for another
two years. Thats just a guess though... more as it becomes
available.
Happy birthday
Hitman! - November 9 - Rabbit
Meat Today, November 9th, the owner and webmaster of
this site celebrates his 16th birthday! What a great
age...16...learners permit. Hitman is THE man behind PD64 and has
designed the graphics and layout for this site, about 90% of the
content and is a great guy to know. So a big happy birthday to
Hitman on behalf of myself and the other staff at this site!
Nintensity forums
open - October 31 - Hitman Just as PD64 Forums breach the 25,000
post milestone, a new interactive force is now in full swing. Nintensity Forums have opened, and are leading off
comforatbly with a foundation of over 3000 total posts so far. This
is where all the action seems to have moved to, so register for the forums and join in the discussion at
Nintensity. The
forums are are the first part of Nintensity that will be opening,
the web design is still in the works, but I can assure you that it
that its mind-blowing. This will be no ordinary Gamecube site when
it launches.
Rarenet? -
October 30 - Gump Quick update
for everyone... remember that #1 Rare site on the internet called RareNet? If anyone has any
information about the whereabouts of Dan and Trevor, , email me and
let me know immediately. The site has been down for almost 2 months
now and I need to know what is up with the site right now. If you've
never heard of RareNet, the founders originally owned RareWare.com
and sold it to Rare for free, gaining tons of respect and inside
connections with the company, and so on. Well, let me know! Thanks
guys.
Kick ass cable
internet - October 28 - Hitman After a huge one
month wait, I finally got broadband! I'm connected by RCN Cable at
an ultra fast 1500 kb/sec, and I just download a full song off
Napster within 12 seconds! I feel almighty and powerful now... Well
I'm paying for it all with my own money, $50 a month, but its well
worth it. So, how will this affect this site? Well besides not being
able to get off my ass to leave the computer, I can now use my fast
upload power to bring you one big shitload of Perfect Dark mp3's.
Soon enough, the music page will be filled to the brim. To all you
inferior 56k-ers, I laugh in your face.
From the makers of
PD64.com… NINTENSITY - October 27 - Hitman PS2 seems to be
breaking the big news as it was released today. But coming in a
proximately one year is a bigger, badder console which will
undoubtedly be something for us Nintendo enthusiasts to drool over.
As you know, the Nintendo Gamecube is Nintendo’s next-gen gaming
console. This crowning of Nintendo’s achievements will be huge.
While I’m foaming out of my mouth just thinking of the video gaming
capabilities that Gamecube will have to offer, I’m thinkin’ why not
build a website? And here it is... Nintensity.com. Don’t you just love that name?
Actually I’ve had the idea of starting a new Gamecube site for
months already, but only now have I started to implement my plan.
The Nintensity staff includes the three core PD64 staff members, who
are myself, Rabbit Meat, and Gringle, plus three other highly
qualified individuals whom you may know if you are a participant in
PD64 forums, who are Perfect Shot, YankeeJTC, and FuzzyAl.
Everything is being built up from the foundations of
GameCubeGeneration. My ambitions are huge, bigger than what PD64
(which has already seen its millionth hit) has accomplished. I
envision a day when Gamecube kicks the living shit out of PS2, and I
envision a day when Nintensity becomes a mainstream name to hundreds
of thousands of Gamecubers out there. Big plans in the works.
And what will happen to PD64? Don’t worry, PD64.com will NOT
shut down. This site has been built so strong as such a quality
resource, the forums are overflowing with new posts everyday, and
we’re still getting about 1500 visitors a day, so there no reason to
shut down, as PD64 is still a powerhouse. Sure its over half a year
after the initial release of Perfect Dark, and the formally dense
flow of news has totally gone dry, so don’t expect much PD news
until any button codes are released, but do expect more content to
be constantly added, the next thing on my agenda is to do a massive
weapons page update. There still is a lot to offer and more to
improve on over here.
So, expect PD64 to stay strong. And expect Nintensity to be a
growing force.
PD64.com's honorary
EGM Magazine mention - October 24 - Hitman Head on over to the news stand and
pick up the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly and flip to
page 259 with all of the PD codes. And on the page, lo and behold is
big mention of PD64.com in the column! hell yeah, I'm so damn proud
right now. And EGM isn't just any unknown gaming magazine, its the
most widely purchased gaming magazine in the US, which makes our mention oh so much more honorary
to us. This is awesome, and its not just the boost of hit numbers
after being exposed in context, its the honor of being recognized
but the big guys at the very top of the gaming element. Its all in
the latest EGM, so be sure to pick it up, and thanks to Jarred Trost
of CC for pointing
this out to me and making the scan. Well, here we are, still as
PD64, still receiving daily hit numbers in the quadruple digits, and
still going strong.
Quick tactic -
October 24 - Hitman Deadeye006 in the
forums discovered a method to
get infinite cloaking without the use of cheats. A very cool glitch
and its technically not cheating, so use it to you advantage,
expecially in King Of The Hill. The strategy is
right here, check it out.
Firing range
walkthrough - October 24 - Hitman Alas, finally
here. This is something that has dragged on forever, but I finally
sat my ass down and HTML-ized the massive firing range
guide that was sent to me. Sitting in my inbox for three weeks
was a gigantic and fully complete firing range walkthrough written
in its entirety by a faithful fan, Chris F. In fact his guide
was so complete and so comprehensive that I basically throw out all
of the other partial guides that were sent to me. Everything is
covered, so check out our new firing range resource to test your
skill meet the ultimate goal of obtaining all gold medals.
Happy
16th, Gringle! - October 22 - Hitman Actually,
yesterday, the 21st of October, was his 16th birthday. He's honorary
position at PD64 and large contributions to this site warrant a big
front page congratulatory update. So, a big "Happy Birthday" to
Gringle. Wow, a defining moment in anybody's life. Plus he can now
get kicks from his new-found drivers license, very cool. Well he's
celebrating his 16th birthday with paintball and strippers, is there
any better way?
Perfect Dark hits
Japan - October 18 - Hitman Our first big PD-related news story in a long time. As you
might know, Perfect Dark has been here in America for close to 6
months. June brought on the PD releases in South America, Australia,
and Europe, but PD's unveiling ot the far east didn't come until
now, as Nintendo rolls out their PD campaign in Japan.Unleashed is the official Japanese PD site. Remember that the the
previous name for PD set for the Japan release was "Red & Black"
because "Perfect Dark" didn't translate well, but negative responses
from Jap fans pushed Nintendo to keep the game's original name for
them, but the official site still has Red and Black written all over
it, see for yourself. Some changes were made to PD so that it'd
appeal to the people there (besides the red and black theme), Rare
made Joanna Dark look a little more Asian as you can see in the
screenshot above. So, PD finally hit Nintendo's origins, so you'd
expect some true hype and fanfare going on over there. And how do
you say Perfect Dark in Japanese?
My gigantic Perfect
Dark review - October 15 - Hitman I promised it
before, and now its here. Time to review Perfect Dark, a little late
though, but here. One of the most important parts of this website
has been missing, but now we bring you our massive Perfect Dark
review almost a half a year after PD's initial release. And
"massive" might be an understatement if consider the huge amount of
work that I put into writing this - three whole weeks. And since we
are a top Perfect Dark site, you'd expect more than a little blip of
a paragraph to fully review perfect Dark, so the review that I
banged up is a insane 5,000 words long! Obviously I've a lot
to say. You must read this, even though chances are you have the
game, see all that I've got to say. This is huge, check it
out. The rating I gave was the one that it deserved.
Next
thing on my agenda: Post up the firing range walkthroughs.
1,000,000th visitor to PD64.com!! -
October 13 - Hitman Hell yeah! That screenshot of our hit counter is proof, that
after nearly 11 months of being online, this website has at last
reached the mega-milestone of 1 million unique hits. Wow,
does that sound damn good or what? One million served, and
susequently on Friday the 13th, I guess we don't get bad luck. The
pride has gotten to my head, I've worked on this site from November
1999, starting out getting only 10 hits a day, and look at us now -
7 digits. We peaked at almost 5000 visits a day during May and June,
and even right now, half a year after the Perfect Dark was released,
we're still proud getting a comfortable 1500-2000 unique visitors to
our site daily. Back when I was making my very first update, who
could have forseen that almost such success, that it would grow into
one of the most visited Perfect Dark sites on the internet. Well,
here we are, still going strong...
